Protect the Planet Film Competition

We run an annual video competion as part of our programme. Last year, our ‘Protect the Planet Video Competition’ attracted entries from many schools across the UAE. This competition encourages young people to create videos on a particular sustainability or clean energy topic, which are then judged by our judging panel. The official winners, Our Own High School Al Warqa’a, were awarded the grand prize in a special ceremony held earlier in 2017.

We will be running the next Protect the Planet competition in mid-2018, with details to be released in February 2018. We hope to get even more students involved this time around!

OUR 2016/2017 COMPETITION

For the 2016/2017 Protect the Planet Film Competition, schools had the option to submit up to three films under one of the following themes:

Create a project that helps the environment within your school and document it; or
Go on a UAE scavenger hunt: find examples of sustainability happening in your home, your neighborhood or you city.

The overall winners were Our Own High School Al Warqa'a, with the Students' Choice Award going to Universal American School.
