CEBC Schools – the UAE National Environment Ambassador Programme – is pleased to invite you to an Ambassador event on 26th November 2017, to be held at Our Own High School Al Warqa’a.
This event is a SOLAR WORKSHOP, presented by Mr. Ridah Sabouni, Managing Director MENA of Energetics, and Eng. Sara Oda, Project Engineer, Enerwhere. We are extremely greatful that these experts have given up their time to come and speak to our Ambassadors!
We would also like to thank Our Own High School Al Warqa’a for agreeing to host our Solar Workshop. Thank you so much!
The format of the day will be:
10.45AM – arrival at Gate 5, Our Own High School Al Warqa’a
11.00AM – Introduction
11.10AM – 11.50AM – Student Presentations – What do we know about Solar?
12.00PM – 1.00PM – Technical Presentation from Mr. Ridah Sabouni
1.00PM – 2.00PM – Presentation from Eng. Sara Oda
The first portion – from 11.10am – 11.50am – will provide the opportunity for students to present their ideas on solar, and what they know already. This can be done through speech, a presentation or a video – whatever works!
Then, Mr. Ridah will follow with a technical workshop on solar, with an introduction to solar energy – history, potential, cells and modules, concentrated solar and the future of solar.
Eng. Sara will then follow with a practical workshop for the students, to help them understand the technical/theory Ridah has discussed, and talk about solar projects in the MENA region.
There will also be lots of time to ask questions and discuss ideas and theories.
The event will close by 2PM, allowing students to make their way back to their individual schools to get buses home.
E-Certificates for attendance will be made available for students after the event, on request – just let me know if you would like one.
HOW TO REGISTER YOUR AMBASSADORS
If you would like to register your Student Ambassadors, please fill out the attached Ambassador Permission Slip form – one per Ambassador. Schools can bring up to four Student Ambassadors, and one adult teacher/guardian. Please return these to me by Wednesday 22nd November 2017. We will be providing a copy of the slips, for administrative purposes only, to the hosting school. Students must have a signed Permission Slip sent to Belinda by 22nd November 2017 to attend. Please also note the name of the guardian/teacher accompanying, if applicable.
Please note that transport to and from the venue is not provided, so students will be required to make their own way to the venue. We have a small amount of car parking available – please contact me if you wish to reserve a spot. Please enter Our Own High School Al Warqa’a via GATE FIVE (5). If you get lost, please ring Belinda (her phone number is your emails)
Students are responsible for their own conduct at the event, and I (Belinda) will be attending and overseeing the workshop. Food and drink are not provided.
We would love to make our event a little bit more interactive, by asking our Student Ambassadors to present what they know about solar. This could be through a speech, a powerpoint presentation, a video, or whatever other way they wish to share it. The presentations will be a maximum of three minutes per school.
It is optional for students to present, but this is a great opportunity for them to develop their public speaking and presentation skills!
If your school would like to present, please let me know when you send back the Ambassador forms, just so we can make sure we have enough time for everyone. If the students wish to have anything projected onto a screen (video, powerpoint etc) this must be provided to me by the end of Wednesday 22 November 2017.
I STILL NEED TO REGISTER MY SCHOOL IN THE CEBC SCHOOLS PROGRAMME!
No problem – just fill out the Registration form and send through to Belinda, as well as the Permission Slips.
Reply to this email, or WhatsApp Belinda on the number provided via email.
We hope to see you at the Workshop!
